We would like to introduce Dr Algenes Aranha as our onsite Endocrinologist.

He has lived and worked on the Gold Coast since 2015. He completed his FRACP in 2013, in both Diabetes and Endocrinology as well as in General Medicine.

Dr Aranha has worked for the past ten years in Queensland, also in the United Kingdom prior to that.

He is able to see the following conditions at the private clinics

Hollie Whitehouse

Accredited Practising Dietitian

Since graduating from Griffith University in 2013 Hollie has experienced working within private practice, community health and aged care. Hollie maintains Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) status with the Dietitian’s Association of Australia however has a special interest in Diabetes and is working towards Credentialed Diabetes Educator (CDE). Hollie’s expertise is not limited to diabetes and she has experience with all stages of life and in the following areas:

  • Chronic disease management (Hypertension, Hyperlipidaemia, Heart Failure)
  • Diabetes (T2DM, T1DM, Gestational Diabetes, Impaired Glucose Tolerance and Polycystic Ovarian Syn drome)
  • Gastrointestinal Disorders (Food Intolerances & Allergies, Inflammatory and Irritable Bowel Disease, Gastrointestinal Reflux)
  • Weight Management
  • Disability – through the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
  • Renal Disease
  • Liver Disease
  • Bone Disorders – Osteoporosis, Osteoarthritis and Gout.

Hannah Reeve

Diabetes Educator & Certified Pump Trainer

Since graduating Griffith University in 2003 Bachelor of Nursing (Pre-Registration) she has completed a Post Graduate Certificate in Diabetes Education and Management (2014) at Southern Cross University. Hannah has worked as a Diabetes Educator for QLD Health in the Diabetes Resource Department at both the Gold Coast University hospital and Robina public hospital. She has also worked in the Diabetes Community Centre at Robina Health Precinct.

Rachel Cosgrove

Accredited Practising Dietitian

Rachel is an Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) with over six years of experience in providing nutrition and dietetic care, four of these years providing services within Gold Coast Health’s chronic disease and post-hospital program. This has resulted in the development of specialised knowledge and skills in the nutritional management of people with chronic diseases, including:

  • Cardiovascular Disease/ Risk Factors
  • Heart/ Cardiac Failure
  • Chronic Kidney Disease
  • Respiratory Diseases
  • Liver Diseases
  • Type 1 & Type 2 Diabetes/ Pre-Diabetes

Rachel also currently works in a mental health hospital. Some of her other areas of particular interest/ expertise include the influence of mental health on nutrition, and the management of gastrointestinal issues. In addition to those listed above, clinical areas that she is experienced in include:

  • Mental Health Nutrition
  • Weight Management
  • Malnutrition/ Deconditioning, including prescription of nutrition supplements
  • Gastrointestinal issues, e.g. irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease, gastro-oesophageal reflux, diverticulosis
  • Nutrient Deficiencies
  • General unhealthy or disordered eating patterns

Rachel uses a motivational interviewing approach with her clients, assisting them with making long term lifestyle/ behaviour changes to help them reach their own nutrition goals.

She provides on-site, telehealth and home visit consults to meet individual needs, and can provide individualised meal plans.

Bulk billing is available to DVA clients and those with a GP chronic disease plan. Concession rates and private health fund rebates are also available.
